The Guide is made up of four sections:
(Onward for Women! An Advocacy Model in the Struggle Waged by Haitian Women’s Rights Organisations)
This document is the outcome of a systematization study conducted by the Coordination nationale de plaidoyer pour les droits des femmes (CONAP – National Coalition for Women’s Rights Advocacy) and supported by Rights & Democracy. The study examined advocacy activities that led up to CONAP’s creation, as well as some advocacy activities carried out by CONAP since. The purpose of the study was to document advocacy initiatives in favor of women’s rights in Haiti, identify strengths and weaknesses, report on results achieved, learn practical lessons about advocacy, and bring to light areas for future work.

(Humane Treatment for Detainees in Haiti: Information Manual for Haitian NGOs)
The purpose of this Manual is to inform Haitian civil society organizations working to protect and promote the rights of prisoners. It begins by outlining the Haitian government’s national and international human rights obligations with regard to prisoners, with a special focus on women and children. The Manual then deals with the right to physical and emotional integrity, medical care, family life, non-discrimination, reproductive health, and education. It goes on to highlight certain measures that could help reduce the prison population in Haiti, namely alternatives to incarceration. Finally, the Manual features a bibliography of normative documents and international instruments related to the issue of prisons.
